Now even Democrats are calling on Hillary Clinton to appear before the media.

Rep. Jim Himes — a Hillary superdelegate — was on CNN this morning and said he’d “love” to see Clinton do a press conference.

“I think both candidates should be as accessible to the press as they can be,” Himes said.

“I’d love to see her do more press conferences,” he added, before calling her an intelligent person.

Clinton, meanwhile, appeared by telephone on the same network and defended not addressing the assembled media.

Phoning it in to Anderson Cooper — literally — Clinton was asked if she’ll hold a press conference.

“Well, Anderson, I’m talking to you right now, and I’ve given, I think, way in excess of 300 interviews this year,” she said.

As they were wrapping up, Cooper asked her to appear before the media.

“We appreciate you talking to us tonight but I know a lot of other reporters who would love the chance to address you during a press conference, so I’m throwing that out there,” he said.

She ignored his statement and said goodbye.
