CNN halted its ongoing coverage of Russian “collusion,” President Trump’s ice cream consumption, the similarities of his face to a dog’s ear infection, and how he offends witches to talk about underwear.

The “news” network’s New Year’s Eve live coverage went off the rails again this year when a correspondent in Mexico City asked a reveler what color underwear he was wearing, handed pairs out to follow partiers and even threw a set at the camera.

Brooke Baldwin and Don Lemon — who has a history of being smashed during the live broadcast — were in New Orleans as Leyla Santiago was south of the border. (Were all the cities in America at capacity?)

After talking about the Mexican tradition of eating grapes, Santiago talked about the importance of wearing red underwear.

“I do want to talk about one more tradition. If you wear red underwear — if you red, if you wear red underwear, it is good for the love of 2019,” Santiago announced.

She then turned to a man standing near her and asked, “So Diego, what color underwear are you wearing?”

“I’m wearing red underwear,” he replied.

Lemon then interjected he was going “commando,” referring to not wearing anything at all.

“I knew you were going to say that!” Baldwin shouted.

“TMI, Don. I love you, TMI,” she added.

Santiago then held up two pairs of red underwear, handing one to Diego and throwing the other pair at the camera, causing it to hang on the lens.

“Red underwear for everyone!” she shouted.

“You’ve done amazing reporting for us at CNN,” Baldwin told her.
