Not only does Nancy Pelosi often think George W. Bush is still the president, but CNN apparently thinks Pelosi is still the Speaker of the House.

Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, a Florida congresswomen and ardent defender of Pelosi, appeared on CNN to calm the calls for her ouster.

“Do you support her staying on as Speaker?” Kate Bolduan flatly asked Wasserman-Schultz.

After an awkward pause, Wasserman-Schultz replied, “Well, she’s the Democratic leader,” before Bolduan jumped in to correct herself.

“Democratic leader, of course,” she said.

“Nancy Pelosi was elected as our leader, as I said, she has been a remarkable strategic legislator. Someone who has helped us make a tremendous amount of progress, prevented devastating cuts and policy decisions from being implemented.”

She credited Pelosi with stymieing Republicans, who control all branches of the federal government.
