In Washington, D.C., Senate Democrats are pulling out all the stops to block Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, most recently vowing to fully investigate a 35-year-old allegation of high school dry humping.

Victims deserve to be heard, they contend.

In Minnesota, meanwhile, Democratic National Committee Deputy Chairman Keith Ellison is running with his party’s endorsement for state attorney general, despite multiple recent collaborated allegations of domestic abuse, backed up with solid evidence and supporting witnesses.

It’s a sick duplicity that’s not lost on Karen Monahan, the woman Ellison allegedly abused, who shared her thoughts about the matter on Twitter Monday.

[email protected] Democrats say believe women, do they believe you … “ Twitter user Rose wrote to Monahan.

“No, they don’t. I’ve been smeared, threatened, isolated from my own party,” Monahan tweeted. “I provided medical records from 2017, stating on two different Dr. Visits, I told them about the abuse and who did it. My therapist released records stating I have been dealing and healing from the abuse.”

The abuse came to light after Monahan’s son called Ellison out for his behavior on social media, describing a video that allegedly showed the Congressman pulling Monahan off a bed while berating her with profanities. Monahan later acknowledged the abuse occurred on several occasions, though she contends she didn’t come forward to derail Ellison’s political career.

“Four people, including my supervisor at the time, stated that I cam to hem after and shared the exact story I shared publicly, I shared multiple text between me and Keith, where I discuss the abuse with him and much more,” Monahan tweeted Monday. “As I said before, I knew I wouldn’t be believed.”

“I didn’t break my silence for validation or any outcome. I did it for my own internal freedom and to stand w/ other survivors. I have nothing to prove to anyone. I simply shared my story. People can believe it or not. I don’t need anyone to affirm my humanity, I affirmed it.”

That’s probably a good thing, because Democrats certainly do not seem to be in a hurry to get to the bottom of her allegations, which are reportedly strikingly similar to allegations lodged against the Congressman from his previous relationships.

DNC Chairman Tom Perez told CBS News a month ago that the allegations against his deputy are “under review” by the state party, but dodged questions about whether Ellison should step aside from party leadership in the meantime, the Daily Caller reports.

“I mean, the matter is under review and the Minnesota Democratic Party is conducting a very thorough investigation and a very prompt investigation and I’m very confident that review will be completed in the near future,” Perez said.

And while the DNC did not address the allegations against Ellison for days, Perez was on Twitter within hours of the dry humping allegations against Kavanaugh.

“This is a lifetime appointment to the highest court in the land & this serious allegation must be investigated thoroughly,” Perez posted. “American people deserve answers, not a vote that is rammed through by Republicans. There is too much at stake.”

Christine Blasey Ford, an active Democrat who contributes to progressive candidates and protests immigration policy, recently alleged that while in high school in Maryland in the early 1980s she attended a house party with Kavanaugh. The alleged Kavanaugh was drunk and pinned her on a bid and fumbled to remove her swimsuit. Ford alleges she tried to scream and Kavanaugh covered her mouth, before Kavanaugh’s friend Mark Judge jumped on them and she ran away, Fox News reports.

A letter recalling the events made its way to Sen. Dianne Feinstein, the senior Democrat on the committee reviewing Kavanaugh’s nomination, on July 30, though the matter wasn’t made public until late last week. Senate Republicans have since invited Ford to testify, though she hasn’t confirmed she will show, according to Fox News.

Twitter user John Cordillo put the whole situation into proper perspective.
