For now, the only thing saving the do-nothing Republicans in Washington, DC are the equally inept Democrats.

That was evident again on Tuesday when a leading Senate Dem refused to even offer a name — any name — of a Democrat she believes is the leader of party.

During an appearance on MSNBC, Washington Sen. Patty Murray refused to answer a simple question about who leads the Democrats.

“Can you give me a name today?” Katy Tur asked Murray.

“Look, I think what’s important right now is that it’s Democrats we work together to show the American people we’re on their side,” Murray responded.

“So no, you can’t give me a name?” Tur interjected.

“I will tell you what’s important is that we allow a lot of ships to sail so we can say who the leader of the party will be that we all get behind and we need to listen to them,” Murray said.

Democrats are theoretically well positioned to mount an effect campaign against the floundering Republicans.

The US News reports:

Republicans are expressing embarrassment, fear and frustration as party leaders concede that their years-long promise to erase much of Barack Obama’s Affordable Care Act is all but dead.

Conservative activists blamed establishment Republicans who control Congress. Establishment Republicans blamed a lack of leadership from their president. And the Republican president blamed “a few Republicans” and all Democrats for blocking his agenda.

The finger-pointing marked a new low for a Republican Party that swept into power in January and has struggled to govern ever since.

“If embarrassment were fatal, we’d all be dead,” Republican strategist Rick Tyler said of his party’s performance since taking control of the White House and both chambers of Congress. “The American people have given us enormous responsibility and enormous trust and we’re blowing it.”
