While some Democrats are leveraging the Me Too movement to their political advantage, others are fighting on the other side of the issue to line their pockets.

Former Attorney General Eric Holder, a rumored 2020 presidential candidate, recently held a workshop for corporate CEOs and other Hollywood bigwigs to sell “the benefits of anticipating problems before they become national news.”

According to Variety:

Former attorney general Eric Holder pitched his investigative services to a roomful of Hollywood executives on Friday, urging them to get out in front of #MeToo allegations.

Holder, now a partner at Covington & Burling, gave a presentation to about 50 corporate leaders at the firm’s Los Angeles office. The former attorney general oversaw the firm’s extensive investigation of sexual harassment claims at Uber last year, which led to the ouster of the CEO, and is now seeking to expand the investigations practice in Hollywood.

“The lesson of Uber is it’s vastly better to look at these issues proactively rather than reactively,” Aaron Lewis, a partner at the firm, told the news site.

Lindsay Burke, another partner, said requests for the firm’s work “went from zero to 100” after news broke of sexual assault allegations against now disgraced Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein, but would not reveal Covington & Burling’s clients. She did reveal the firm is working with at least one major media company that “saw what was happening in its industry and wanted to understand where it might have some vulnerabilities,” she said.

The American Thinker put the scheme in context:

Democratic Party stalwart Eric Holder isn’t letting the Democratic Party’s claimed principles about standing up for women’s rights get in his way of his quest for more money. He’s actually conducting a roadshow to offer his legal services to Hollywood executives to help them head off legal or public relations crises in the event their predatory sexual behavior becomes public. You know, if one of the #MeToo women comes and accuses the next one of being another Harvey Weinstein – whether through groping, casting-couch favoritism, or maybe raping – he’s there to help the company. Basically, Holder wants to … defend these people from those dreaded women, and profit handsomely.

Holder isn’t the only Democrat with an apparently hypocritical stance on Me Too. Former president Bill Clinton lashed out at a reporter last week when questioned about how he correlates his support for the movement with allegations of sexual harassment and rape the plagued his presidency, The Washington Post reports.

And then there’s also handsy Joe Biden. The former vice president hosted the “Biden Courage Awards” in New York City in April to profess his love for the #MeToo movement and recognize the “student heroes” who are “the leading edge in the world in terms of changing attitudes toward women,” according to Breitbart.

Folks online quickly called “Creepy Joe” out on the award show, offering several montages of the former number two getting a little too close and personal with the wives and daughters of his congressional colleagues during swearing-in ceremonies.

“Seriously you have Creepy Joe,” Brenda Brown wrote in response to the awards, “my God as a parent I would never want him around my girls.”
