The cyber security firm FireEye will hold its Cyber Defense Summit 2019 at the Washington Hilton in October, and it invited someone who knows a thing or two about worst practices to keynote the event.

“We are pleased to announce that Former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton will be a featured keynote at our #FireEyeSummit in October!” the company posted to Twitter Thursday. “Secretary Clinton will engage in an intimate Q&A keynote discussion with Kevin Mandia.”

Mandia is FireEye’s CEO and board director.

“Now in its 10th year, Cyber Defense Summit brings together many of the world’s leading security experts, frontline heroes, government leaders, and executives from various industries to address the challenges of today’s threat landscape,” according to the event website.

Hacking and cyber attacks are two of Clinton’s favorite topics of conversation and central to her narrative that Russian hackers cost her the 2016 presidential election by revealing the ugly politics behind her campaign.

Clinton is also experienced in setting up and operating vulnerable unsecured servers, as well as wiping compromising emails from computers and other electronics so “even God couldn’t read them,” as Congressman Trey Gowdy put it during Clinton’s federal investigation in 2016.

“Differences among nations today, driven by friction in geopolitics, economics, security and technology, are having a significant impact on global cyber conflict,” Mandia said in a news release. “Secretary Clinton’s extensive knowledge of foreign policy, her firsthand experience on the front lines of diplomacy, and her understanding of the challenges facing open, democratic societies give her a unique perspective on some of the most pressing conversations shaping our world today.”

The event features three different racks for various professionals, from executives to technicians, with breakout sessions tailored to participants. It costs $1,095 for a standard registration.

Many folks online thought the Clinton announcement was a hoax, while others offered up topics of conversation for the former first lady to tackle at the event.

“Hillary keynoting a cyber security event makes about as much sense as …,” Colin Lundstrom tweeted.

“Joe Biden teaching sexual harassment,” RescueJujo62 finished the thought.

“Are you trying to become the biggest joke in the industry?” Security Samwise questioned.
