NBC appears to be more interested in protecting it’s leftward leaning political bias than they are in uncovering the truth.

Journalist Ronan Farrow had been investigating the long history of allegations of sexual misconduct by Harvey Weinstein as recently as August. According to multiple sources, he presented a final copy of his investigation to NBC executives at that time.

Farrow, an NBC contributor and investigative reporter, had already obtained damning audio of an encounter that Weinstein had in 2015. In the audio file, Weinstein blatantly admits to having groped an unnamed woman.

However, instead of running with the story, NBC claims it had “concerns” related to the story’s sourcing. It’s unclear exactly what thoses concerns were. Nonetheless, they allowed Farrow to take his story to The New Yorker, which Farrow promptly did.

Farrow’s story, along with the audio from the 2015 New York Police Department sting, appeared Tuesday on the website of The New Yorker.

In the story, several women spoke on the record about their encounters with Weinstein. Among them were Oscar winning actress Mira Sorvino and filmmaker Asia Argento, the latter of whom said Weinstein raped her.

When pressed for an explanation as to why NBC chose not to run with Farrow’s story, the network declined to comment.

Meanwhile Curtis Houck, managing editor of NewsBusters, was among those raising questions about the NBC decision. He and Rachel Maddow discussed this on MSNBC on Tuesday.

Journalist Lynn Hirschberg, who has covered Hollywood for years, said Farrow had called her seeking help for the story.

“He said he was doing a special for NBC News,” she said. “He had somebody who was willing to be on camera.”

She also says Farrow never said anything about any plans to take his story to the New Yorker or to any other news outlet.

The issue, Hirschberg said, wasn’t with Farrow’s journalism, but with that of NBC: “It’s really a question about NBC’s courage.”

Or in this case, lack of courage on the part of NBC, especially when that truth may ruin the career of one of the Left’s biggest donors and fundraisers.
