Who ever thought the Democrats’ “Resistance Summer” campaign would also ensnare one of their leaders?

After the party’s fourth loss in as many elections since April, more Congressional Democrats have the knives out for their leader, Nancy Pelosi.

Appearing on CNN, Rep. Seth Moulton called for an “across the board” change to the leadership of the party.

While not denying that Pelosi is a “liability” to Democrats, Moulton said, “Whether she’s the leader or not is up for the caucus to decide.

“But this is something we certainly have to discuss because it’s clear, I think, that across the board in the Democratic Party, we need new leadership. It’s time for a new generation of leadership in the party,” he said.

“Most of the veterans that I’m working with are very young and that’s the kind of generational change that I think our party needs.”

Moulton said “everyone” talks about how the party leadership, which includes Pelosi and Sen. Chuck Schumer, “is old and distinguished,” but, “I think it’s time for change.”

The congressman didn’t have a recommendation for who should be the leader of the party and he didn’t air his feelings about DNC chairman Tom Perez.

“I don’t know that it’s possible at this point to change our party leadership. Somebody has got to step up and run,” he said.

Earlier in the day, Congresswoman Kathleen Rice also appeared on CNN and called for Pelosi to go.

“We need leadership change,” she said. “It’s time for Nancy Pelosi to go, and the entire leadership team.”

“I think you’d have to be an idiot to think we could win the House with Pelosi at the top,” Democratic Rep. Filemon Vela said, according to Politico.

“Nancy Pelosi is not the only reason that Ossoff lost. But she certainly is one of the reasons.”
