Some very influential Trump supporters seem to think the president could benefit from a vacation, suggesting he should take a break from Twitter to cool his jets.

Trump’s supporters seem to think it’s a preposterous proposition.

“should PRESIDENT TRUMP take a vacation and stop public comments and TWEETING FOR 30 DAYS?” conservative radio host Michael Savage tweeted Friday.

The question follows heated public comments between the president and four socialist congresswomen known as “The Squad,” which are all women of color. The freshmen lawmakers, led by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, have repeatedly criticized all facets of U.S. policy to frame the country as a white supremacist nation designed to oppress minorities. That stance and a variety of other socialist positions have led to public spats with Democrat House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

AOC labeled Pelosi a racist in a recent interview after the representative from California repeatedly downplayed the 29-year-old’s influence in the party. Ocasio-Cortez and The Squad, all members of the progressive group Justice Democrats, have also taken to describing detention facilities for immigrants who cross the border illegally as “concentration camps,” a deliberate attempt to liken Trump to Nazis who intentionally killed millions of people in World War II death camps.

Trump suggested The Squad “go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places” they’re from if they hate America as much as their comments suggest. Trump also encouraged the women to “then come back and show us how it is done.”

All of The Squad are American citizens. Rep. Ilhan Omar is a refugee from Somalia, while Rep. Rashida Tlaib is a U.S.-born Palestinian. Trump’s comments triggered predictable cries of racism from Democrats, who passed a resolution against the president’s allegedly “racist” comments – a move that effectively required Pelosi to support the women who labeled her a racist just days earlier.

But several Republicans and conservative pundits have also spoken out against Trump to suggest his comments go too far. At a rally this week, the president’s supporters chanted “send her back” in reference to Omar, who currently faces allegations she committed immigration and tax fraud by marrying her brother.

“Though it was brief, I struggled with the ‘send her back’ chant tonight referencing Rep. Omar,” Rep. Mark Walker posted to Twitter. “Her history, words & actions reveal her great disdain for both America & Israel. That should be our focus and not phrasing that’s painful to our friends in the minority communities.”

Rep. Paul Mitchell specifically requested a meeting with Vice President Mike Pence to discuss the chant and said it “is simply not reflective of our constitution,” according to Rolling Stone.

“I deeply disagree with the extreme left & have been disgusted by their tone,” Mitchell tweeted. “I woke up today equally disgusted – chants like ‘send her back’ are ugly, wrong, & would send chills down the spines of our Founding Fathers,” Rep. Adam Kinzinger posted. “This ugliness must end, or we risk our great union.”

Rep. Mike Turner called Trump’s tweets “racist,” and called for him to apologize.

Savage has cooled on his support for Trump in recent weeks and repeatedly questioned the undying loyalty of his supporters. Trump once said he couldn’t have become president without Savage’s support.

So Savage posted the question on Friday: Should Trump take a communication vacation?

The answer was virtually unanimous.
