Voters who backed Donald Trump over his fervent support for a wall on the southern border are going to have to wait a while to see it completed — if it ever does.

Reporters barraged President Trump with questions today, with Major Garrett repeatedly asking, “When, Mr. President? When will the wall get built?”

“It will start soon, very soon,” Trump responded.

“In your first term?” Garrett asked.

“Well it’s certainly gonna — yeah,” the president answered, seemingly making a policy declaration off the top of his head.

“Sure. We have plenty of time. Got a lot of time,” he added.

Earlier in the day, Trump lashed out at critics, and maybe even some supporters who are wondering what is taking the Congress and the administration so long to take action on the big issues.

“Don’t let the fake media tell you that I have changed my position on the WALL. It will get built and help stop drugs, human trafficking, etc.,” he tweeted.

Trump is not only fighting Democrats united against increased border security, but some powerful Republicans, as well.

The Gateway Pundit reported earlier this month that Border Patrol union president Brandon Judd criticized House Speaker Paul Ryan for opposing wall funding in the FY 2018 budget.

Saying he disagreed with Ryan, Judd said, “President Trump promised he was going to secure the border and part of securing the border is putting in place the proper technology and resources that allows us to be successful. And a border wall in strategic locations is one of those things that must get done.”
