President Trump said this morning that Israel will show “great weakness” if the country allows U.S. Reps. Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib to visit.

“It would show great weakness if Israel allowed Rep. Omar and Rep. Tlaib to visit,” Trump wrote on Thursday.

“They hate Israel & all Jewish people, & there is nothing that can be said or done to change their minds. Minnesota and Michigan will have a hard time putting them back in office. They are a disgrace!”

Both women are Muslim.

Omar, in particular, has made numerous anti-Semitic remarks she’s been forced to defend to walk back.

The New York Times reports Israel is weighing blocking their entry into the country:

Israel is weighing whether to deny entry to two United States congresswomen, Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib, for a planned visit to the West Bank, Israeli officials said on Thursday. Both women have been vocal in their support of the Palestinians and the boycott-Israel movement.

An Israeli official said there was a possibility that Israel would not allow the visit in its proposed format, but would not elaborate.

The official spoke on the condition of anonymity, citing ongoing consultations between various Israeli ministries, the attorney general and the National Security Council.

The duo is scheduled to arrive in the region on Sunday, according to the paper.

The group is expected to depart the area on August 22, but “Ms. Tlaib had been planning to stay on to visit relatives in the West Bank.”

She is Palestinian and has previously said she feels more Palestinian than American.

The Conservative Review reported in April:

Video has surface of newly enshrined Democratic congresswoman Rep. Rashida Tlaib proudly proclaiming that she feels more Palestinian in the U.S. Congress than anywhere in the world.

“Honestly I’ve never felt more Palestinian than I ever felt in Congress,” the Michigan congresswoman said in a speech earlier this week addressing the far-left Michigan Coalition for Human Rights. “Even in Palestine when I’m visiting my grandmother, I’m more Amrikiin, American, to the Palestinians. But I’m more Palestinian in the halls of Congress than I am anywhere in the country, in the world. And that just tells you just the fact that they weren’t ready for us. They really weren’t.”

Tlaib proudly celebrates her self-proclaimed Palestinian heritage, but when it comes to her Jewish colleagues and supporters of Israel, she rejects their right to do so, often using language that amounts to advancing anti-Semitic dog whistles and conspiracy theories. She has accused her colleagues in Congress who support Israel of having dual loyalties, a popular anti-Semitic canard that claims Jews are not sufficiently loyal to the United States.
