Ted Cruz ran into a buzz saw of sorts as he was addressing delegates from his home state of Texas on Thursday.

An exchange with two people during an event with delegates — broadcast live on CNN — showed one imploring Cruz to support “the party,” while the other lashed out, telling Cruz, “The party has spoken!”

“You can unite this party like no other man — even more than our candidate — by using just a few words and we need to do it now,” the man told Cruz as the audience cheered.

“We need to stand with you and you need to stand with us.”

Cruz said he “appreciated” the man’s comments, but then again sidestepped endorsing Donald Trump for president, as he had the previous night during his main stage speech.

Apparently not buying Cruz’s refusal, the man countered, “I didn’t say support Donald Trump, I said support the party — the party.

“The party has spoken!” another man shouted.

Cruz then said he’s supported the party by raising money for candidates and campaigning for them.

He again refused to endorse Trump saying, “We either stand for shared principles, or we’re not worth anything.”
