Jeff Halm, president of the Chicago Young Republicans, made a mockery of his local CBS affiliate recently when a reporter called to discuss President Donald Trump’s tax returns.

Across the country, liberal activists are protesting Donald Trump over his decision not to disclose his tax returns amid a federal audit, and CBS Chicago reporter Sandra Torres contacted Halm to get his take on the situation.

“You guys. I trolled my local CBS affiliate,” Halm posted to Twitter, along with a 15-second clip of a recent broadcast. “They were asking about Trump’s tax returns, so I quoted Hillary. The reporter has no idea.”

The accompanying video proved Torres was oblivious to Halm’s ironic response, and simply parroted what he had to say.

Trump has said he won’t “release his tax returns because he’s being audited,” Torres said. “In response to these protests, Chicago Young Republican spokesperson Jeff Halm said, ‘What difference, at this point, does it make?’”

The comment, of course, was Hillary Clinton’s infamous response to questions about how she handled a Sept. 11 2012 bombing at the U.S. Consulate in Benghzai, Libya that killed four Americans

The Obama administration initially claimed the bombing occurred amid a protest about a recently released anti-Muslim video, an excuse many believe was aimed at deflecting attention away from the fact that the State Department denied requests for additional security before the attack.

In a Jan. 23, 2013 hearing before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Clinton attempted to dodge questions from Sen. Ron Johnson about why Obama administration officials repeatedly mischaracterized the attack in media reports after the incident, according to a C-SPAN video of the hearing.

“With all due respect, the fact is we had four dead Americans. Was it because of a protest or was it because of guys out for a walk one night who decided that they’d … go kills some Americans?” Clinton said. “What difference at this point does it make?”

And while CBS Chicago’s Sandra Torres did make the connection between Halm’s Clinton comment, his followers on Twitter seemed to think it was hilarious.

“The complete ignorance of current events (in people who are supposed to be journalists) never ceases to amaze me,” Doc Washburn posted.

“That was excellent!” Crista Cooper added. “Well done!”

“No idea who you were before this but it’s so #Epic you gained a new follower!” Honest Autism added.
