Democrat Stacey Abrams is still very upset about her election loss almost four months ago.
The failed Georgia gubernatorial candidate delivered her party’s official response to President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address on Tuesday night, and she made it all about herself.
During her roughly 11-minute speech, she said “I,” “I’m,” or “my” at least 35 times.
Her entire speech was about what “I have done,” what “I have completed,” what “I’m going to do,” or how “my efforts” have played a role in something.
Abrams complained about “voter suppression,” “racism,” and “bigotry” playing a big role in America’s elections, which was a not-so-subtle shot at her loss to Georgia GOP Gov. Brian Kemp.
She also claimed that Trump’s policies are hurting the American economy, which bizarre given it’s arguably the hottest in the entire world.
“The Republican tax bill rigged the system against working people. Rather than bringing back jobs, plants are closing, layoffs are looming, and wages struggle to keep pace with the actual cost of living,” she claimed.
As highlighted in his speech, Trump’s economic agenda has resulted in the economy soaring to 3 percent growth, boosting wages, manufacturing jobs roaring back, the markets hitting all-time highs, and 304,000 new jobs created last month alone.
Abrams seems to have lost her grip on reality, which isn’t surprising given she spent most of her speech making every talking point and issue about herself.
She went on to blame Trump for the partial government shutdown and made it all about herself by detailing what she did to help furloughed workers.
“Just a few weeks ago, I joined volunteers to distribute meals to furloughed federal workers. They waited in line for a box of food and a sliver of hope since they hadn’t received a paycheck in weeks,” Abrams said.
“Making their livelihoods a pawn for political games is a disgrace,” she added.
