Democrats won’t give $5.7 billion for a border wall, but they want to give $100 billion to virtue signal.

Marianne Williamson, a best selling author and 2020 Democratic candidate, appeared on CNN’s “New Day” late last week and called for $100 billion in reparations for African-Americans for slavery.

“We need a moral and spiritual awakening in the country,” Williamson said.

“Nothing short of that is adequate to fundamentally change the patterns of our political dysfunction,” she added.

“We need someone to articulate what’s happening, the deeper levels of moral dysfunction,” she continued.

“I have had a 35-year career in naming and transforming those dynamics. That’s my qualification for the presidency at this time,” she said.

As CNN anchor John Berman lobbed softball questions about her proposal — which would certainly face an uphill battle in Congress — it became clear that Williamson is dead serious about it.

“I believe $100 billion given to a council to apply this money to economic projects and educational projects of renewal for that population is a debt to be paid,” she said.

Williamson is a self-described “spiritual friend and counselor” to Oprah Winfrey and believes that her proposals align with public opinion.

When asked by Berman how she sees a path to victory, Williamson bizarrely said, “My strategy isn’t strategy.”

“My strategy is that I seek to speak as deeply, articulately and passionately as I can,” she said.

“I’m not trying to figure out what to say to get people to vote for me. I’m seeking to have the conversation that I believe we need to be having. These are very serious times. We need to be very serious, deep thinkers,” she added.

Less than two weeks ago, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., also made a similar argument.

While speaking at an event honoring Martin Luther King, Jr., the 29-year-old lawmaker appeared to be arguing for racial reparations in America.

“Until America tells the truth about itself, we’re not going to heal,” she said in a clip posted by Grabien’s Tom Elliott.

“When we tell the stories of the mistakes we have made in the past, economically speaking, when we talk about the issue of reparations, people think, you know, people think,” she rambled, clearly struggling to verbalize her thought.

“Reparations for slavery. But really, economically speaking, reparations are for the damage done by the New Deal and red lining,” she added.

Last year, Rep. Maxine Waters promised financial reparations for black Americans if Democrats won back the U.S. House of Representatives.
