With Sen. Lindsey Graham serving as the new chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee and Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s ailing health, Democrats are conjuring up a vicious smear campaign against the South Carolina Republican.
This week, a newly-elected Democratic lawmaker and liberals in the media spread a conspiracy theory that Graham is “compromised” or “bought” because he has been agreeing with President Donald Trump.
On Tuesday, Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn, tweeted “They got him, he is compromised!” in response to a video clip of Graham in 2015 speaking ill of Trump.

When Omar spoke with CNN on Thursday morning and was asked about her tweet, she claimed “lots of Americans” agree with her that Trump is blackmailing Graham for allegedly being a homosexual.
When grilled by CNN hosts Poppy Harlow and Jim Sciutto on her claim, Omar struggled mightily to explain her tweet.
Omar also attempted to defend her claim by saying it was based on “polling in his district,” which raises more questions about why people in Minnesota would be asked about a South Carolina lawmaker being “compromised.”
The Muslim lawmaker eventually admitted that there’s no evidence to support her claim and that it was just her “opinion.”

Omar’s unsubstantiated accusation on Tuesday came hours after MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle implied that Trump has “kompromat” on Graham.
“It could be that Donald Trump or somebody knows something pretty extreme about Lindsey Graham,” Ruhle said, suggesting Graham is only siding with Trump lately because he has something to be guilty about.
Ruhle’s accusation and Omar’s unsubstantiated claims followed another unverified allegation from Jon Cooper, a super PAC Democratic official.
Cooper took to Twitter to claim that Graham was “being blackmailed by the Russians” over “some pretty serious sexual kink.”
“By the way, as an openly gay man myself, I couldn’t care less about Lindsey Graham’s sex life (gay, straight or otherwise). However, Graham is the Senate Judiciary Chair and there’s a strong likelihood that he’s being blackmailed by the Russians. If so, that needs to be revealed,” Cooper wrote.

The Democratic operative also made note of Graham being appointed as the chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, a tell-tale about how liberals appear to be laying the groundwork to discredit Graham in the near future.
Ginsburg has missed two weeks on the court and just cancelled two more events that were scheduled for the coming weeks.
The 85-year-old Justice is recovering from surgery she had last month to remove two cancerous growths from her left lung, forcing her to miss two straight weeks of oral arguments on the Supreme Court.
Given her health is clearly an issue, it looks like Democrats are gearing up for a nasty battle if Ginsburg is forced to retire.
If there’s a Supreme Court vacancy, whomever Trump selects would go through the nomination process before the Senate Judiciary Committee.
Democrats appear to be laying the groundwork to assert that Graham is “compromised” and that he shouldn’t be able to head the committee.
Many thought the smear campaign against then-Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh was disgraceful — which included liberals spreading allegations that he took part in drugging and gang raping girls at high school parties — and it looks like Democrats are going to use the same playbook.
