Robert “Beto” O’Rourke’s campaign blues continued on Wednesday as he scored next to last in a poll posted on the Drudge Report after the first Democratic debate.
As of Thursday morning, Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard was far-and-away the winner, capturing 45.25 percent of the vote.
Sen. Elizabeth Warren was in second with a little over 11 percent. Former Rep. John Delaney scored third with 9.5 percent. New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio came in fourth with nearly 7 percent.
Rep. Tim Ryan, Sen. Amy Klobuchar, Gov. Jay Inslee and Julian Castro were all in the mid-single digits.
One-time media darling Beto came in 9th with only 3.97 percent of the votes.
Sen. Cory Booker finished last, with 3.45 percent.
Just a day earlier, he struggled to attract fans to a free campaign event.
On the eve of the first Democrat debate, Beto was in North Miami kissing the ring of Big Labor, but photos show there was a lackluster turnout, as the candidate played to empty seats in the front row.
The American Federation of Teachers didn’t even try to obscure the vacant chairs:

Note the empty front row seats on the other side of the room, as well.
This video shows empty seats in the middle section, directly in front of O’Rourke:

Union president Rhonda “Randi” Weingarten exposed more empty seats in her photo:
And at the town hall we didn't just discuss public ed. @BetoORourke discussed the immediate threat of climate change, solutions to gun violence, and ways to protect Social Security and Medicare. pic.twitter.com/kPXNGXcepo

There were apparently so few RSVPs, organizers sectioned off a portion of the North Miami Middle School gymnasium to not further embarrass the candidate.
Beto’s campaign video did a little better job hiding the empty seats, but alas, they’re still there:
Judging by this video, taken prior to the start of the event, there weren’t that many chairs to begin with:
It’s debate season, y’all. I’m at North Miami Middle School covering an American Federation Teachers town hall with @BetoORourke.
