Legendary actor and martial arts expert Chuck Norris is about to roundhouse kick the 2016 presidential election.

chucknorrisThe 75-year-old — known for films like “Way of the Dragon” and “Delta Force” and television series “Walker, Texas Ranger” — previously endorsed former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee for the 2016 GOP nomination, but is now shifting his support to Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, MassLive.com reports.

“Norris … will join the Texas senator for a Sunday rally at zMax Dragway at Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina,” the news site reports. “The event, which will come just two days before North Carolina voters head to the polls, is being hosted and paid or by Keep the Promise PAC – a conservative super PAC that has openly backed Cruz’s campaign.”

The rally will also feature appearances from conservative radio host Glenn Beck and Family Research Council executive vice president Jerry Boykin.

The Cruz campaign announced Norris’ scheduled appearance over Twitter, prompting mostly positive reactions.

“Join me, @glennbeck, and Chuck Norris on Sunday, March 13, at Charlotte Motor Speedway,” Cruz tweeted along with a link to the event webpage.

“@tedcruz is now ‘Chuck Norris approved!’ No one can stop him now #OnlyCruz,” Bob Vander Plaats tweeted.

“@Campaign_Trump @tedcruz @glennbeck not even Trump’s drunken blustering can beat Chuck Norris,” FarmBoy added

“@tedcruz @glennbeck @eventbrite Wow. You even got the great political thinker Chuck Norris? I should take this campaign seriously,” Sean Mulvihill wrote.

“@tedcruz @glennbeck CHUCK NORRIS is a PATRIOT! #CRUZCREW,” Cindy Brown posted.

And while most seemed to approve of Norris joining forces with Cruz, some were less enthusiastic Glenn Beck.

“@tedcruz The Glenn Beck thing is a turnoff. @vampilta @glennbeck,” Gary Eaton wrote.

“@tedcruz @glennbeck Why has Cruz not disavowed Glenn Beck yet?” Tarra Corley tweeted. “Or does he condone religious zealots with homicidal urges?”

Norris is a strong advocate of gun rights and has made significant donations to Republican candidates since the late 1980s. He’s devoted Christian who has written columns for conservative publications about the importance of faith, family, freedom and American pride.

In a 2008 letter penned to newly elected President Obama, Norris laid out several ways the president could best serve “We, the People,” including adherence to the Constitution, protecting American life – including unborn children, avoiding mistakes common with Democrats, and leading more from the political center, WND reports.
