In what might be the biggest self-own of all time, CNN’s Jim Acosta inadvertently proved how effective walls are.

Acosta traveled to McAllen, Texas, on Thursday as part of the press pool covering President Donald Trump’s visit to the border.

He broadcasted himself standing next to large steel slates along the border between the United States and Mexico.

“I found some steel slats down on the border. But I don’t see anything resembling a national emergency situation.. at least not in the McAllen, TX area of the border where Trump will be today,” Acosta tweeted.

While complementing the area for being very nice, Acosta claimed there was “no crisis” at the border.

“There are no migrants trying to rush towards this fence,” he said sarcastically.

Without a whiff of self-awareness, Acosta didn’t even consider that the area was so “nice” and safe because there was a giant border barrier protecting the American city.

The CNN reporter tried so hard to criticize Trump that he ended up proving the president’s point: walls work.

This marks the second time this week where Acosta has been utterly humiliated.

While speaking to reporters on Tuesday outside of the White House, Kellyanne Conway eviscerated Acosta and called him a “smartass” that no one likes.

Acosta asked Conway whether Trump would “tell the truth” during his Oval Office address on the government shutdown.

“Kellyanne, can you promise the President will tell the truth tonight?” Acosta rudely asked.

Conway shot back by asking if Acosta planned to tell the truth when he went back on the air with CNN.

“Let me get back in your face because you’re such a smart ass most of the time,” Conway said, moving closer toward Acosta. “I know you want this to go viral. A lot of these people don’t like you.”

“Yes Jim, and can you promise that you will? The whole truth and nothing but the truth, so help you God? Am I allowed to mention God to you?” Conway snapped back, as Acosta interrupted, “I’m not the one who has the alternative facts problem, like you do.”

“Jim, I know that’s a cheap– make sure that goes viral,” Conway said, adding that she’s one of the only people who work in the White House who still gives Acosta the time of day since “most of the people here don’t like you.”

“You’re such a smartass most of the time,” she added.

“I was on your network 25 or 26 times in 2018,” said Conway. “I’m one of the last people here who even bothered to go on, and the disrespect that you showed to me personally, I’ll just look past.”
