It was revealed yesterday that Nancy Pelosi would have retired from Congress had Hillary Clinton won the presidency.
“During a Feb. 15 meeting, Pelosi told some high-ranking lawmakers she was here only to defend her signature domestic achievement and would have left Congress had Hillary Clinton won, according to sources in the room,” Politico reported on Wednesday.
Democrats are now being forced to live with that decision — and its fallout.
While addressing reporters on Thursday, Pelosi said she was unsure whether “ironically” was a word.
Speaking of Republicans supporting Paul Ryan’s Obamacare overhaul, Pelosi said, “Many of them, living in very red states and very red areas that voted for Donald Trump are people who benefited from the Affordable Care Act.
“So, ironically,” she said, before getting a puzzled look on her face and continuing, “I don’t know if ‘ironically’ is even a word…”
Ironically, the CNN chryon at the bottom of the screen said Pelosi was claiming Donald Trump “doesn’t know what he’s talking about.”
