Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib is so adamant about abolishing Immigration and Customs Enforcement she’s now encouraging her followers to starve themselves to make it happen.

Tlaib was speaking at a high-dollar fundraiser for the Michigan Coalition for Human Rights last week when she described how “we can shut them down” and provided examples for folks to follow.

“I want you to not only share things on social media, but pick up the phone because many of your Michigan delegation members need to also be loud and clear about this action,” she said. “You know, there’s so many movements that we’re all part of. It won’t take us getting that information from the subpoena only. You know what it’s going to take? Movements outside the halls of Congress. Movements outside of White House.

“I want you all to shut them down. We can shut them down. Don’t wait for this Congress to act. Shut ‘em down,” she continued. “I know what they’re going to say, ‘What do you mean Rashida?’

“Well, I’ll tell you. There’s some people that are using hunger strike, all these other things, going to the border, and I plan to,” she said.

Tlaib also criticized more moderate Democrats and her party’s leadership as overly “strategic” and alleged they won’t abolish ICE because they’re “not ready for that now,” The Washington Free Beacon reports.

Tlaib’s comments come after repeated hunger strikes of inmates in ICE facilities, allegedly to protest unsatisfactory conditions. In some cases, ICE has secured court orders to force feed those who refuse to eat, which has enraged illegal immigrant activists and Democrat politicians, according to ABC News.

“Since May 2015, we’ve documented nearly 1,400 people who’ve been on strike in 18 different facilities …,” Christina Fialho, founder of Freedom for Immigrants, told the news site.

Fialho complained in February about the government’s attempt to keep her clients alive.

“They’ve lost considerable weight and since the force-feeding has occurred they seem even more emotionally and physically beaten up,” she said.

Tlaib’s remarks in Detroit were certainly not the first time she’s advocated for drastic action to push a radical political agenda. She’s one of only two members of Congress – along with Rep. Al Green of Texas – who continue to push legislation to impeach Trump in the wake of the special counsel’s conclusion of no collusion between his campaign and Russia in 2016.

It’s also not the first time Tlaib has attacked the leaders of her own party for ignoring her bad ideas, an offense she claims is rooted in racism.

“They put us in photos when they want to show our party as diverse,” Tlaib told folks at the Detroit fundraiser. “However, when we ask to be at the table, or speak up about issues that impact who we are, what we fight for and why we ran in the first place, we are ignored.”

The video of Tlaib’s speech at the Michigan Coalition for Human Rights was posted to YouTube by America Rising PAC, a group dedicated to exposing the hypocrisy in the Democrat party.
