Germany is now a part of the World War II Allies, according to commemoration photos.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel is participating remembrance ceremonies in England, despite her country, under the leadership of Adolf Hitler, killing some 20 million people during the era.

A video tweeted by Clarence House shows members of the Royal Family greeting dignitaries. It shows Queen Elizabeth shaking the hand of Merkel and the caption reads, “The Prince of Wales meets leaders representing the Allied Nations that took part in D-Day.”

Merkel’s nation played a part in D-Day — by killing American, British and Canadian soldiers.

Merkel was also included in an official photo, seated one away from President Trump.

“The Queen today joins The Prince of Wales, POTUS and FLOTUS on Day 3 of US state visit, as well as Heads of State, Heads of Government and Representatives of Leaders of the Allied Nations who have come together to honour veterans,” The Royal Family tweeted.
