Minnesota Congresswoman Ilhan Omar has implied President Trump isn’t human, and she’s blamed him for everything from the border crisis to the New Zealand mosque shootings.

Now, she’s asking for his help to free a “political prisoner” in Egypt, though her plea seems like more of a publicity stunt than anything authentic.

Also, the “political prisoner” she’s trying so hard to help just happens to be a leader with the Muslim Brotherhood, a group considered by many to be a radical Islamic terrorist organization.

“I recently met with @jkadawy and @thefreedomi to talk about Hoda Abdelmonem, a political prisoner in Egypt,” Omar posted to Twitter Tuesday. “I hope that Trump brings up her case in his meeting with the regime that has imprisoned her. We must work to #FreeHoda.”

A video posted by AJ+ alleges Abdelmonem is a victim of a government crackdown that targeted dozens of human rights workers, lawyers and activists. Adelmonem’s daughter claims in the video the elderly “human rights lawyer” defended political prisoners after a coup reshaped the Egyptian government in 2013 and was arrested without charges in November 2018. She’s been detained since, according to the video.

Folks online were quick to point out that Adelmonem isn’t simply a “human rights lawyer.”

“I just confirmed: Hoda Abdelmonem is a ***senior female leader**** of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt,” the Conservative Review’s Jordan Schachtel posted. “Why is an American congresswoman advocating for an Islamist activist?”

Schachtel also provided several links to Adelmonem in news reports by Reuters and The Guardian to back up his claims.

The debacle comes just weeks after Omar questioned the United States’ allegiance to Israel and made other anti-Semetic remarks that forced House Democrats to publicly address bigotry in the lower chamber.

Her ask from Trump also follows a long history of denigrating the president as a racist who hates Muslims, something that wasn’t lost on folks weighing in on her tweet online.

“She is always fighting harder for illegal aliens and foreign nationals than she is for American citizens,” Ryan Saavedra posted.

“You said Trump ‘is not human,’” nomorelies added. “Why are you expecting such a ‘human’ thing from him? But I admire the shameless balls you have to even ask …”

Others simply stated the obvious.

“Omar, why would the American president help a Muslim Brotherhood terrorist get out of an Egyptian prison?” Jeffrey Lichtman wrote. “No one wants her freed but terrorists. And you. Why don’t you advocate for the journalists locked up in Turkey? Iran? Gaza?”

“FYI, we prefer NOT to have terrorists in our country,” Kevin added.
