Hillary Clinton is across the pond hugging children as the Democratic cat fight rages on TV screens across America, and leaders are dismayed by the lackluster performance of the front runner.

Leading liberal analysts lamented Joe Biden’s poor performance during the first Democrat debate.

Providing analysis on CNN, David Axelrod said the 76-year-old former Vice President didn’t handle the debate questions well.

“At times the Vice President seemed somewhat confused to me, and handling some of the questions and following some of the ideas he seemed a bit defensive,” Axelrod said.

Van Jones was equally concerned.

“I’m hurt,” he said of his one-time White House colleague. “This is a bad night for Joe Biden, this is a bad night for Democrats.”

But where was Hillary as the fur flew in Miami?

Thousands of miles away in Ireland being honored at a charity dinner.

It was a chance for Clinton to brandish her foreign policy creds as Democrats laid into Biden about school busing and states rights.

RTE reports:

The former US secretary of state, Hillary Clinton, has said her husband, former US president Bill Clinton, Senator George Mitchell and herself discussed their worries about Brexit’s possible impact on the open border.

She told RTÉ News the arrangement was key to ensuring that Anglo-Irish relations remain peaceful and prosperous.

Mrs Clinton was speaking to RTÉ News during a visit to the Barretstown facility for seriously ill children in Co Kildare.

She will be the guest speaker at a dinner to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Barretstown’s holiday facility, which was founded by film star Paul Newman.

Clinton has certainly maintained a schedule of a candidate, visiting states across the country, and now globally. Is she laying in wait for Biden to completely collapse, and launch a last-minute campaign?
