Virginia Sen. Tim Kaine said today that Supreme Court nominee Judge Neil Gorsuch is “entitled” to a floor vote — even though that’s not something Kaine actually supports.

In fact, Kaine is part of a majority of Democrats who are vowing to filibuster Gorsuch on Thursday and block a vote on Trump’s nominee.

“I’m so proud of my colleagues, Democratic and Republican, because in two months, Judge Gorsuch has enjoyed something that Merrick Garland didn’t get in 10 months.

“Judge Gorsuch had meetings with virtually all senators. He’s had Judiciary Committee hearing. He’s had a Judiciary Committee vote. He’s getting floor debate and he will get a floor vote. Those are the five things he’s entitled to and he’s getting all of them,” Kaine said.

Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is expected to hold a vote on Thursday on Gorsuch’s nomination.

So far, three Democratic senators — Heitkamp of North Dakota, Donnelly of Indiana and Manchin of West Virginia — have indicated they will not support a filibuster and will vote affirmatively to confirm Trump’s nominee.
