Even a cut-rate price of $10,000 can’t get people interested in having dinner with President Obama.

That’s a deep discount, compared to a $32,400 ticket prior to the 2014 election.

SFist reports an email promoting an event in San Francisco with the president states the fundraiser currently has “many” seats available.

A copy of the invitation lists $10,000 will get the attendee an “intimate” dinner and photo with Obama, as well as participation in a “Q&A.” The funds will go to the Democratic National Committee.

Just last fall, the president was in San Francisco at the home of Mark Pincus and the ticket price was $32,400.

An Associated Press story reports 25 people attended that dinner and it was closed to the press.

“I am absolutely elated to invite you to an intimate dinner with President Barack Obama in San Francisco on February 13, 2015 at the home of Sandy and Jeanne Robertson,” the email, which was sent Saturday, opens, according to SFist.

The event has room for 60 guests.

Obama’s fundraising woes could explain why he’s previously criticized money in politics.

In 2013, Politico reported Obama “blamed the influx of money in politics for some of the gridlock and brinkmanship in Washington.”

“I’ve continued to believe that Citizens United contributed to some of the problems we’re having in Washington right now,” the president said. “You have some ideological extremist who has a big bankroll, and they can entirely skew our politics.”

“There are a whole bunch of members of Congress right now who privately will tell you, I know our positions are unreasonable, but we’re scared that if we don’t go along with the tea party agenda, or the — some particularly extremist agenda, that we’ll be challenged from the right,” Obama said. “And the threats are very explicit. And so they toe the line.

“That’s part of why we’ve seen a breakdown of just normal routine business done here in Washington on behalf of the American people,” he said.
