First, the FBI came knocking about his social media posts.

Then, it was state bureaucrats, who demanded U.S. Rep. Maxine Waters’ Republican opponent, Omar Navarro, produce documents regarding comments he made against burning the American flag.

“An organization @CA_FPPC is supposed to investigate real issues, is being used by Maxine Waters to try to look into me for free speech in the attempt to censor me from attacking a Councilman in Torrance who’s affiliated with burning American Flags,” Navarro posted to Twitter this week, along with a photo of an Aug. 20 letter from the Fair Political Practices Commission.

The letter read:

The subpoena attached to this letter details the records that you are required to produce, to our agency, on or before 9/04/2018. You may e-mail, fax, or mail the requested documents without appearing in-person, so long as you do so before the date indicated on the subpoena. The address of the Los Angeles City Ethics Commission is listed on the subpoena however all records can and should be produced directly to our agency, at the above listed address.

The letter was signed by special investigator Ann Flaherty, and it came around the same time FBI agents requested to meet with Navarro over a letter he posted to Twitter last year that appeared to come from Waters.

In the document, which was produced on official letterhead and bore the lawmaker’s signature, Water wrote about her desire to bring 41,000 Somali refugees to Los Angeles and aspirations to become speaker of the House, though the congresswoman claims it’s a fraud.

Navarro contends his recent interactions with investigators are part of 80-year-old career politician’s plot to discredit his campaign and secure a 15th term in Congress.

“Fireback today and send a message to the FBI & Maxine Waters. Im tired of false witch-hunts on the Trump Administration and my campaign against Maxine Incite violence Waters,” Navarro posted to Twitter.

“The @CA_FFPC is crooked as it gets,” he posted Thursday. “The lady on the phone today said the Russians are interfering with elections that’s why they have to look into me. Another puppet of Maxine Waters is special investigator Ann Flaherty.”

Navarro broke down the situation in a statement to The American Mirror.

“The FPPC is going after me for spending $40 on two Facebook posts I boosted of a Torrance City Council councilman who ran for re-election named Tim Goodrich. If you look at Tim’s past, he was the founder of Iraq Veterans Against the War. This organization burns American flags as an example,” he wrote.

Navarro first exposed Goodrich’s close relationship with Maxine Waters in video post to Twitter in April.

“Maxine Waters supporter #Torrance Councilman Tim Goodrich Co-Founded an organization which Burns American Flags in Protest,” Navarro wrote. “Can’t believe this guy serves on the Council. It’s a disgrace to have Goodrich, he makes a mockery of true heroes like Louis Zamperini.”
