An American Airline plane carrying Hillary Clinton was forced to return to the gate after “mechanical issues” struck the aircraft on Sunday.

The plane was traveling from New York’s LaGuardia to Washington on Sunday afternoon when the plane “started shaking and ground crews saw smoke” and later found metal debris on the tarmac, according to CBS 2.

They took photos of twisted metal they retrieved from the ground.

The plane, which was a few hundred feet from the terminal, was forced to return, where passengers boarded another plane after the aborted flight.

Passengers were delayed about 90 minutes, according to the news station.

Clinton has recently said “many, many” people are asking her to consider running for president in 2020.
