On May 31, 2016, in the Atlanta suburb of Lawrenceville, a 31-year-old Somali “refugee” dressed in a black burqa allegedly snatched an American flag off of a family’s mailbox and proceeded to attack the family with the pole.

Aisha Ibrahim, a 31-year-old Somali refugee who also uses the pseudonym Amina Ali Ahra, was indicted on two counts of simple assault and two counts of simple battery after she reportedly violently attacked Damien Arno and her 17-year-old daughter Brittany with an American flag.

Arno said Ibrahim was swinging the flag “with all her might” and added that she was acting “possessed,” according to a Fox 5 story on the attack.

She was also indicted on one count of giving a false name to police.

Ibrahim did not show up in court for her arraignment on Monday.

“Ibrahim’s brother appeared and announced to the court that his sister was in an Atlanta-area hospital and could not be present,” WND reports.

Dan Mayfield, chief deputy assistant district attorney, says the arraignment has been rescheduled for May 22nd.

“We decided not to issue a bench warrant for her arrest because she is receiving medical treatment,” Mayfield said, though he could not confirm her brother’s claims.

He told WND that the court accepted Ibrahim’s brother “at his word.”
