Democrats look increasingly likely to name Nancy Pelosi Speaker of the House again, but her behavior during a Thursday press conference renews questions about whether she’s well.

Addressing reporters, the House Minority Leader flubbed named, said “again” several times as she repeated herself, suffered brain freezes, and was confused about the details a bill she supports.

Moments into her brief appearance, Pelosi gushed over the new members who hold her future in their hands.

“And they’re here now, in what is one of the most tranformative—,” she said, suffering a brain freeze, staring at reporters, “new members of— body of members of Congress.”

After suffering another brain freeze, she had big trouble explaining how many seats the Democrats won.

“We will— we will win 40, uh, we will win 4— we will have, take, win 40 seats,” Pelosi said.

She said “again” numerous times as she found herself attempting to speak to reporters without notes, but referring back to them and repeating what she had already said.

Pelosi got tripped up on a Trump tweet calling the Mueller investigation a “witch hunt.”

She had trouble saying the name of Neal Katyal, and thought Ed Markey was “John.”

Discussing a bill she would like to see advance in the new Congress, she stumbled through the details.

“The Special Counsel cannot be fired without cause. He, he or she would be granted a three-judge appeal panel if fired, uh, could only be removed by a Senate-confirmed AG— replaced by a Se— uh, Senate-confirmed Attorney General,” she said.

She mistakenly said the Attorney General would need to be confirmed by the Congress, before clarifying to say the Senate.

Pelosi marred “evangelicals,” and asked for water when an apparent try mouth affected her performance.

Despite the water, her bizarre behavior continued.

“Democrats and Republicans can, um, come to their own conclu— to their agreement,” she said.
