Miley Cyrus joined the female writers for The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday to heap praise and thanks on failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton during her latest stop in a nationwide tour to offer excuses for her loss.

“I know that our female writers in particular are big fans of yours and they wanted to thank you in person,” Fallon told Clinton, who appeared on the show decked out in an all black pantsuit.

“So if you don’t mind, is it cool if they write out some thank you notes?”

“Oh, I love thank you notes, actually,” Clinton said.

Several female writers then took Fallon’s seat beside Clinton to write out their notes to special “thank you note writing music.”

“Thank you, Hillary Clinton. For being the first female presidential candidate nominated by a major party. And also the first female senator of New York. And also first first lady to transcend first ladyhood to become secretary of state,” one writer said as she wrote out her note.

“I guess what I’m trying to say is thank you Hillary Clinton for being the Hillary Clinton of American politics,” she continued to applause and Clinton clutched the note next to her heart.

“Thank you sooo much,” Clinton said. “Thank you.”

“Thank you Hillary Clinton for handling this difficult transition with more grace than I ever could have imagined,” the next writer said. “That being said, call me day or night and I will be there with a gallon of ice cream and two spoons to tell you, ‘Girl, you are so much better than him.’”

“You might get the call!” Clinton said as she roared with laughter.

“Thank you Hillary, for all the work you’ve done for public healthcare,” another writer said. “Ever since the election I’ve really depended on my government-subsidized anti-anxiety medication.”

“Thank you, Hillary, for remaining strong and showing poise before, during and especially after the election,” another writer said. “You taught me that when dealing with a difficult defeat it’s okay to take time to reflect, set your focus on a new path forward, and maybe find a cave in the woods to scream into.”

Others used their time beside Clinton to take pot shots at Trump, or the electoral process.

“Thank you, Hillary, for always sticking to the issues, even as people criticized you for superficial things like your hair, your wardrobe, and your appearance. You showed girls everywhere that politics isn’t a popularity contest, because if it were you would have won by about 3 million votes,” another said.

“Thank you, Hillary Clinton. I was with her. I’m still with her. And right now, I literally am with her,” another writer said.

“Thank you, Hillary Clinton, for being someone I continue to admire and look up to. And for standing up to critics who said a woman couldn’t be president because they would be too emotional, impulsive, and unpredictable,” yet another writer said. “So glad we didn’t end up with someone like that.”

Miley Cyrus closed the skit with her own special thanks that brought her to tears.

“Thank you, Hillary, for being a constant beacon of strength, hope, and determination for me and millions of other young women,” Cyrus said, voice cracking with emotion. “You’ve been a role model, an inspiration, and a voice of reason in uncertain times. I could go on and on, but I’d like to get right to the point: Can I give you a hug?”

“Yes, yes,” Clinton said as she embraced Cyrus.

“Since we’re writing thank you notes, can I write one too?” Clinton asked Fallon.

“Of course, please,” Fallon said as Clinton took a seat behind his desk.

“Thank you, Miley, The Tonight Show writers, and all of the women and young girls out there,” Clinton said. “You are smart, strong and deserving of every opportunity. Together, we’ve made our voices heard, we’ve done great things, and we’ve come a long way.

“But as Miley would say, ‘We can’t stop, and we won’t stop,’” Clinton said to Cyrus pumping her fists in the air.
