A top Democratic Senator and 2020 presidential candidate wannabe made it crystal clear during an appearance this weekend that her party will “get rid of ICE” if Democrats take control of the Congress this fall.

Speaking at the Oxy Fest in Manhattan over the weekend, New York Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand said the “first thing” Democrats should do is to get rid of the agency that apprehends criminal illegal aliens and gets them out of America.

“So when we flip the House and the Senate,” Gillibrand said, “I think the first thing we should do is deal with the children who are being separated from their families at the border. I think we should get rid of ICE,” she continued as an attendee yelped in approval.

“We should separate out to two missions. Do the anti-terrorism mission, national security mission, and then on the other side, make sure you’re doing, um, looking at immigration as a humanitarian issue,” Gillibrand said, adding it is a “civil issue,” and that it is an “economic engine” for the country.

Gillibrand first called for the elimination of the national security agency in June.

“We believe that we should protect families who need our help and that is not what ICE is doing today, and that’s why I believe you should get rid of it, start over, reimagine it and build something that actually works,” Gillibrand told CNN.
