Maybe with the exception of Barack Obama, is there anyone more self-important than Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez?

The socialist and darling of the mainstream media told a “Green Jobs For All” rally outside the Capitol that her recent election victory was like the moon landing and the fight for civil rights.

“This is not just about a green New Deal,” Cortez said, flanked by other incoming members of Congress.

“This is about a New Deal for the United States of America because in every moment when our country has reached the depths of darkness — in every moment when we were at the brink, at the cusp of an abyss and we did not know if we would be capable of saving ourselves, we had,” she continued, waving her hands for dramatic effect.

“We’ve done it. We’ve dug deep and we’ve done what we thought was impossible. We went to the moon, we electrified the nation. We established civil rights, we enfranchised the country. We dig deep and we did it,” Cortez said.

“We did it when no one else thought that we could. That’s what we did when so many of us won an election this year,” she said to silence, save for a single whistle of approval.

“That’s what so many of us did,” she said as a smattering of applause broke out.

Earlier this month, Cortez was confused about the structure of the federal government.

The New York socialist rallied supporters on Facebook a couple weeks ago to pitch in and help Democrats take back “all three chambers of Congress.”

“…the Progressive movement works and it wins in all districts…If we work our butts off to make sure that we take back all three chambers of Congress– three chambers of government…,” she said, according to Chicks On The Right.

She clarified that she meant the “presidency, the Senate and the House.”

The Supreme Court is actually the third branch of government, along with the legislative and judicial branches.

Or maybe she really believes there’s three chambers of the Congress. Who knows.
