Socialist darling Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez wants to abolish Immigration and Customs Enforcement because it’s full of rapists and child abusers. Or something.

Ocasio-Cortez, who won an upset primary against Chairman of the House Democratic Caucus U.S. Rep. Joe Crowley, took offense to a post on Twitter by Townhall editor Katie Pavlich this week and attempted to set the record straight.

[email protected] wants to abolish ICE. Today ICE deported an actual Nazi from her congressional district in Queens,” Pavlich posted, along with a WABC story about the capture of 95-year-old Nazi war criminal Jakiw Palij, who was sent back to Germany Tuesday.

Ocasio-Cortez apparently felt compelled to weigh in.

“#AbolishICE means not having an agency that incarcerates children and sexually assaults women with impunity,” she shot back. “It does not mean abolish deportation.”

She also added her two cents about so-called white supremacy for good measure.

“Also, I have no problem saying white supremacy has no place in this country. It’s the GOP that struggles to say that,” Ocasio-Cortez wrote.

The celebrity socialist followed up with another tweet hours later about a different ICE case from Queens that allegedly illustrated her point, though it took place during the Obama administration.

“Here’s another ICE story from Queens: ICE detained & imprisoned a US citizen for 2 years. ‘ICE seemed totally unconcerned they were imprisoning and deporting a US citizen’ – From his attorney, Andrea Saenz of @BklynDefender,” she posted with a link. “Our immigration system in undeniably broken.”

Twitchy put her tweet into proper perspective:

The man in the story, Levy Jaen, was born in Panama. His mother, who is not an American citizen, was married to an American citizen at the time of his birth. But a different man, not an American citizen, was listed on his birth certificate as his real biological father. Jaen eventually came to the U.S. on a visa and ICE wanted to deport him (in 2016) after he finished a 2-year sentence for drug possession for overstaying said visa. His case, which made its way through the courts, determined that U.S. law recognizes the man his mother was married to as his father for citizenship purposes, not the biological father.

Oh, and the administration that wanted Jaen deported was that of Barack Obama. …

President Obama didn’t deport the Nazi but he did try to deport the American. And this is the party she wants in charge?

Several folks on Twitter also offered reactions to the future congresswoman’s musings.

“Here’s another story from the Bronx.: A totally unqualified person wins an election and her supporters seem unconcerned about her lack of qualifications and knowledge,” Warren Meyers wrote.

“Obama had 8 years to deport the Nazi and did nothing,” Geo Hazel added. “Trump deported the Nazi.”
