House Speaker Nancy Pelosi wants bipartisanship — but only for policies she supports.

Despite glaring differences on climate change, Pelosi is joining forces with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to threaten their own colleagues who cross party lines on key votes.

According to Politico, Pelosi and Ocasio-Cortez are going to war with Democrats who may vote with Republicans on tough and controversial measures.

Pelosi reportedly told her Democratic colleagues that they better show “courage” and vote the party line on issues such as gun control, or else she will push the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee to pull back support for the lawmakers who dare cross her.

“This is not a day at the beach,” Pelosi said, implying that they aren’t in Congress to work with Republicans. “This is the Congress of the United States.”

“Pelosi also warned that Democrats who voted with Republicans on the motion to recommit could lose support from the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, although her threat may be more bluster than reality, according to Democratic lawmakers and aides,” the Politico report stated.

Politico adds that Ocasio-Cortez is also prepared to do her part, citing several sources who confirmed that the New York socialist planned to “alert progressive activists when Democrats are voting with the GOP on these motions,” and that she had a “a text chain with 200 activists in her district” discussing such issues.

It appears that Pelosi is using Ocasio-Cortez as an intermediary to galvanize far-left activist groups against Democratic lawmakers who vote with the GOP on issues.

Pelosi’s threat to her own colleagues reportedly came on Thursday during a closed door meeting with other Democratic members.

Earlier this week, the Democratic-controlled U.S. House of Representatives passed gun legislation that vastly expanded background checks, but it also included an amendment written by the GOP that required Immigration Customs and Enforcement officials to be notified if an illegal aliens fails a background check when attempting to purchase a firearm.

This apparently sent Pelosi over the edge, because how dare lawmakers want to know when an illegal immigrant — who broke the law to enter the country — is trying to purchase a firearm in America.

“We are either a team or weren’t not, and we have to make that decision,” Pelosi reportedly said at the meeting.
