Hillary Clinton has a new champion: the homophobic father of the Orlando gay nightclub terrorist.

Seddique Mateen was seen sitting just feet from the Democratic nominee during her Kissimmee, Florida rally on Monday night.

It was no coincidence: the space behind the stage — directly facing the TV cameras — is always arranged by campaign staffers for the appearance of maximum diversity.

At the time, Mateen didn’t want to say much, according to WPTV.

“We’ve been cooperating with the federal government, and that’s about it,” he told the reporter. “Thank you.”

But then they happened upon him at a West Palm Beach rest stop, and Mateen became much more chatting, offering to analyze the presidential race.

“Hillary Clinton is good for United States versus Donald Trump, who has no solutions,” he said.

He dodged answering whether the Clinton campaign knew he was going to be attending and if they placed him behind the candidate. But he did say he was invited.

“It’s a democratic party, so everyone can join.”

Mateen even had a sign made for the rally. It read:

Hillary Clinton:

* Makes the biggest investment since WWII
* Good for national security
* Ex-CIA Chief Morell “Hillary told the truth about Benghazi”
* Gun control laws

Seddique Mateen

After Omar Mateen, Seddique’s son, killed 50 people in an Orlando gay nightclub in June, the elder Mateen didn’t blame his son, but rather the bar owners.

“The first thing I want to say is that club should have had good security,” he told Sky News. “The club, that four or 300 people were coming, they should have had good security. If there was good security, he wouldn’t have had this opportunity.”

“They should had a good security and why the law enforcement so late? They should have neutralized him quick,” Seddique added.

“Obviously if they had that kind of experience, they should have had better security. After this, any club should have security. So if someone wants to come sick, the psycho people, or these bad people the club, they should protect that.”

CBS News reported Seddique was “saddened” by his son’s actions, but indicated what happened was some sort of justice for the gay club patrons.

“God will punish those involved in homosexuality,” saying it’s, “not an issue that humans should deal with.”

Seddique’s son was lauded by the terror group ISIS after the killings, saying “brother Omar Mateen, one of the soldiers of the Caliphate in America.”

Omar pledged allegiance to ISIS in a 911 call during the attack.

When the dispatcher asked him his name, he replied, “My name is I pledge of allegiance to Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi of the Islamic State.”
