Congressional Democrats are now officially 0-4 in Trump-era special elections — and Nancy Pelosi’s not saying much.

Nothing, in fact.

Pelosi has been silent about the latest defeat, which Democrats and the mainstream media inflated as a referendum on Donald Trump.

Georgia Democrat Jon Ossoff lost the Sixth Congressional District on Tuesday by a wider margin than Hillary Clinton in November.

Pelosi, the leader of Congressional Democrats, has been pretty quiet.

She hasn’t acknowledged Ossoff’s defeat, or articulated the Democrats’ way forward.

But she did praise John McCain on Election Day:

“Sen. John McCain calling out Republican hypocrisy is music to my ears,” she tweeted on Tuesday. “Americans deserve to know what’s in the bill,” she added, referring to the Obamacare overhaul.

Maybe that’s the Democrats’ path forward: sidle up to anti-Trump Republicans and sabotage his agenda that way.

Ossoff’s defeat wasn’t the only one on Tuesday for Democrats.

Republican Ralph Norman defeated Democrat Archie Powell in a special election in South Carolina’s 5th District, according to CNN.

In May, Montana Republican Greg Gianforte captured a statewide Congressional seat, despite assaulting a reporter hours before polls opened.

Democrats had previously pinned their rhetorical hopes on a special election in Kansas, only to see Republican Ron Estes defeat Democrat James Thompson in April.

As ABC notes of the latest defeats:

The outcome “better be a wake-up call for Democrats — business as usual isn’t working,” Rep. Seth Moulton, D-Mass., said over Twitter. “Time to stop rehashing 2016 and talk about the future.”

Apparently Democrats still think Nancy Pelosi is the best person to do just that.
