Is House Speaker Nancy Pelosi buckling under the pressure of a wobbly impeachment proceeding?

Pelosi was walking off the stage when a reporter shouted a question about “hating” the president.

She stopped, waved her finger and yelled, “I don’t hate anybody, not anybody.”

“So do not accuse me…” she said before the reporter interjected, “I did not accuse you,” adding Republicans are suggesting Democrats are pursing impeachment “because they don’t like the guy.”

“That has nothing to do with it,” she said before returning to the podium.

“I think the president is a coward when it comes to helping our kids who are afraid of gun violence. I think he is cruel when he doesn’t deal with the— helping our Dreamers that of which we’re very proud.

“He’s in denial about the Constitut— about the, uh, climate crisis. However, that’s about the election.”

“This is about the Constitution of the United States,” she lectured, “and the facts that lead to the president’s violation of his oath of office.

“And as a Catholic I resent your use of the word hate in a sentence that addresses me. I don’t hate anyone. I was raised in a way with a heart full of love and always pray for the president, and I still pray for the president,” she said.

“So don’t mess with me when it comes to words like that,” she added before stomping off the stage.
