Nancy Pelosi is sick of talking about Trump, and she isn’t interested in discussing claims she’d rather see him in prison than impeached.

CNN attempted to goad the 79-year-old Speaker of the House into addressing remarks she reportedly made to her caucus during a meeting with top Democrats last week.

“I don’t want to see him impeached,” Pelosi told her underlings, according to Politico, “I want to see him in prison.”

CNN’s Manu Raju repeatedly asked Pelosi to elaborate on the remarks at the Peter G. Peterson Foundation’s 2019 Fiscal Summit in D.C. on Tuesday, but she wouldn’t bite.

“He was apparently set off by remarks you reportedly made in private, saying you’d rather see him in prison than impeached,” Raju said. “Is that how you really feel?”

“I don’t care what motivates him, and we never know. But in front of tombstones of our fallen, we’re there to observe the 75th anniversary of Normandy,” she said. “You be the judge as to whether you think it’s appropriate for the president to take that tact.”

Pelosi was referring to an interview with Fox News in which he criticized her abilities and personality.

“I think (Pelosi is) a disgrace,” Trump said. “I actually don’t think she’s a talented person. I’ve tried to be nice to her because I would have like to have gotten some deals done. She’s incapable of doing deals. She’s a nasty, vindictive, horrible person.”

The president also called Pelosi a “disaster” and pointed out that her district is rife with drugs and needles.

But Pelosi wasn’t interested in getting into an argument with Trump, and she repeatedly refused to even discuss the scuffle with Raju.

“I don’t care what you ask anymore,” Pelosi said. “I’m not going to talk about him anymore.”

Raju attempted to confirm “sources” who publicized her Pelosi’s private remarks to Democrats, but she shut him down.

“But I want to know, did you actually say that? Did you actually say that the president, you’d rather see him in prison than impeached?” Raju pressed.

“When we have conversations in our caucus, they stay in our caucus,” Pelosi dodged. “Do people think some impeachable offenses that the president committed? Yes. How serious are they? Are they criminal? Many of the people think they are.”

Raju reiterated his question: “Do you think they are?”

“That’s not the purpo … I’m here to talk about … I’m not going to that place of what happens in our caucus,” Pelosi said. “What we’re talking about is what’s happening within our country.”

In other words, Pelosi won’t deny that she wants the president behind bars.

“.@SpeakerPElosi refuses to deny she told her Democratic colleagues last week, behind closed doors, that she’d like to see Trump ‘in prison,’” CNN Newsroom posted to Twitter.
