If Joe Biden is considering a presidential run in 2020, his latest speech and heaping praise for former President George W. Bush could cause some problems.

While speaking on Sunday at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia, the former vice president presented the Liberty Medal to Bush and his wife, former First Lady Laura Bush.

Throughout his speech, protesters could be heard outside screaming, shouting, blowing whistles, and, at one point, blaring a siren to protest the award.

The noise from the protesters was so loud, both Biden and the Bush’s appeared uncomfortable and, at times, even a little flustered.

According to Philly.com, roughly 30 protesters — veterans and others — disrupted the ceremony to protest U.S. wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.

“No awards for endless wars,” one protester said, blaming Bush for war in Iraq following the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, which resulted in nearly 3,000 Americans being killed.

Matt Howard, who is part of the group About Face: Veterans Against the War, said the protesters were being disruptive because they believed Bush was using his speech to rehabilitate his reputation.

And they weren’t happy about Biden, who is likely eyeing a presidential run in 2020, taking part in awarding Bush.

Celeste Zappala, another protester, stood outside the event while holding a photo of her son, Sgt. Sherwood Baker, who she said died in Baghdad in 2004 while looking for weapons of mass destruction.

“I am here because I find it abominable that Bush is getting the Liberty Medal,” Zappala said. “And he has never apologized for starting the war in Iraq based on lies.”

Several others sounded off on Twitter.

During Biden’s speech, when he wasn’t heaping praise on Bush, he complained about the “demeaning” nature of today’s politics.

“As President Bush was my opposition as the chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee, he was never my enemy. Think how demeaning our politics has become in terms of how we talk about one another,” Biden said.

“There’s the opposition, not the enemies. In a week following another contentious political season, the presentation of the Liberty Medal is a critical reminder that neither Republicans nor Democrats hold a monopoly on the values and the ideals that define us as a nation,” he added.

It’s quite comical to hear Biden, the same guy who has threatened physical violence to President Donald Trump, lament how “demeaning” politics has become.

A few weeks ago, Biden suggested during a campaign rally for Sen. Heidi Heitkamp, D-N.D., that a union boss should beat up a Republican lawmaker.

While stumping in North Dakota, Biden appeared to encourage a union president to use physical violence against GOP Rep. Kevin Cramer, who defeated Heitkamp in the midterm elections.

Biden quoted Cramer as previously saying soybean farmers “don’t have a very high threshold for pain.”

“Well, I get that the president of the trade union is up here, he’ll show him a threshold of pain,” Biden said.

“Don’t have a high threshold of pain?” Biden said, smiling while the crowd cheered.

Biden, who recently said kindergarten girls are “too young to resit,” has also threatened to physically assault Trump.

Earlier this year, Biden himself said he wanted to beat up Trump.

“If we were in high school, I’d take him behind the gym and beat the hell out of him,” Biden said, referring to Trump’s previous comments about women.
