REPORT: 96% of Hillary’s charitable giving goes to Clinton Foundation

Hillary Clinton gave over a million dollars to charitable causes last year — and nearly 96% of it went to a non-profit with her name on the front door.

Clinton gave $1,042,000 in charitable contributions last year, and of that, $1 million went to the Clinton Family Foundation, CNBC reports.

The other $42,000 — or roughly 4% of the giving — went to Desert Classic Charities.

But even that group is connected with the Clinton Foundation.

The group wrote on its website in 2012:

Desert Classic Charities, the local non-profit entity that has organized the Humana Challenge in partnership with the Clinton Foundation (formerly the Bob Hope Classic) for 53 years, today presented 40 Coachella Valley charities with more than $2 million in donations, the charitable proceeds raised from January’s Humana Challenge PGA TOUR golf tournament.

“Our new partnership with Humana and the Clinton Foundation has made it possible for us to continue making a huge difference in the lives of so many individuals here in the Coachella Valley,” John Foster, president and CEO of Desert Classic Charities, said on the charity website.

According to CNBC:

Hillary Clinton also listed $1.475 million in gross income from speaking, and Bill reported $5.25 million in gross income from speaking. No details were provided on those speaking engagements.

The Clintons made $10.7 million in total income, but reported an adjusted gross income of $10.6 million due to a self-employment tax deduction.

The news site notes the Clintons paid an effective federal tax rate of 34.2%.

    of millions of dollars to the Clinton Foundation. They believe that this was done for favors that Hillary was doing for the foreign governments while she was Secretary of State.

    “We are telling the world of the crimes that Bill and Hillary Clinton are responsible for in
    Haiti,” said Dhoud Andre of the Committee Against Dictatorship in Haiti. “And we are telling the American people that the over 32,000 emails that Hillary Clinton said she deleted have evidence of the crimes they have committed.”

    Hillary’s Emails Show Pay-for-Play Scheme

    Hillary Clinton put the State Department up for sale, with top aides pulling strings
    and doing favors for fat-cat donors to the Clinton Foundation — including a
    shady billionaire, according to smoking-gun emails released Tuesday.

    The stunning revelations include how wealthy contributors seeking influence or
    prestigious government gigs could fork over piles of cash to get access to
    Clinton’s inner circle, including top aides Huma Abedin and Cheryl Mills.

    In an April 2009 message to Abedin and Mills, Doug Band, who was overseeing the
    Clinton Foundation at the time, urgently asked for a meeting between a top US
    official and Gilbert Chagoury — a major donor to the Clinton family charity.

    “We need to speak to the substance person re Lebanon. As you know, he’s [Chagoury] key guy there and to us and is loved in lebanon,” wrote Band, in a clear attempt to suck up to a big donor to the foundation.

    “Its jeff feltman,” Abedin wrote back, referring to America’s former ambassador to Lebanon who went on to become assistant secretary of state for Near Eastern affairs in August 2009.

    “I’m sure he knows him. Ill talk to jeff,” said Abedin.

    Less than 20 minutes later, Band replied, “Better if you call him. Now preferable. This is very important. He’s awake I’m sure.”

    Chagoury is a Lebanese-Nigerian billionaire who gave the Clinton Foundation between $1 million and $5 million. In 2009, he also pledged $1 billion to the Clinton Global Initiative.

    The construction magnate, a close pal of Bill Clinton’s, has financial interests around the world. He was convicted in Switzerland in 2000 of money laundering and paid a $66 million fine in a plea deal.

    Abedin’s quick response to Band paid dividends down the road.

    In June 2011, Band formed the Teneo consulting firm, with Bill Clinton as the paid honorary chairman. And in 2012, Abedin won permission to work as a $15,000-a-month consultant for Teneo in a special arrangement that allowed her to remain on the State Department payroll.

    The disclosures came in a batch of 296 pages of State Department documents released
    by Judicial Watch, a watchdog group that has been fighting in court to recover Clinton’s emails through the Freedom of Information Act.
