For all of the mud the mainstream media throws at President Trump on a daily basis, his approval is actually two points higher than his predecessor’s at the same point of their presidencies.

Rasmussen reports:

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Thursday shows that 49% of Likely U.S. Voters approve of President Trump’s job performance. Fifty percent (50%) disapprove.

These findings include the first full night of surveying following the president’s State of the Union speech to Congress.

The latest figures include 47% who Strongly Approve of the job Trump is doing and 42% who Strongly Disapprove. This gives him a Presidential Approval Index rating of -5.

But two days after his second State of the Union address, the data shows Trump is actually more popular by two points than Obama at the same point of his first term.

A Gallup poll taken from January 31-February 6, 2011 shows Obama had a 47 percent approval rating. Forty-five percent of Americans disapproved his job performance.

The message of Trump’s State of the Union address was one of unity. That appears to be reflected in the latest numbers.
