Twitter put Trump supporter and former Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke Jr. on time out until he learned to play nice.

The social media giant temporarily blocked the former Wisconsin sheriff from posting new messages after he sent out a meme on Sunday with Trump’s face superimposed on a wrestler holding another wrestler labeled “CNN.” The meme featured a third wrestler – with Clarke’s face – kicking the “fake news” wrestler in the face.

Clarke wrote:

BREAKING NEWS! When LYING LIB MEDIA makes up FAKE NEWS to smear me, the ANTIDOTE is to go right at them. Punch them in the nose & MAKE THEM TASTE THEIR OWN BLOOD. Nothing gets a bully like LYING LIB MEDIA’S attention better than to give them a taste of their own blood #neverbackdown

According to CNN, “Clarke was placed on read-only mode until he deleted three tweets that seemed to call for violence against members of the media.”

The “taste their own blood” tweet has since been deleted, though others posted by Clarke on Sunday were equally critical of the liberal media and are still active.

“Nothing like getting under the skin of lefties like I did today,” he posted, along with an image of a stern-looking Clarke in his trademark cowboy hat. “I fight to win. You come at me libs you better bring a hard hat, some aspirin and your veggie wrap because it’s going to be a long day and I’m going to smack you around until you crawl back to your mom’s basement.”

Twitchy reports the CNN “taste their own blood” tweet was reported to Twitter by leftist film producer Judd Apatow and author Patrick Tomlinson for alleged violations of the site’s terms of service.

One Twitter user who complained about Clarke’s tweets received an emailed response from Twitter, which was published by CNN: “We have reviewed the account you reported and have locked it because we found it to be in violation of the Twitter Rules: https://support.twitter.com/articles/18311. If the account owner complies with our requested actions and stated policies, the account will be unlocked.”

Clarke, a strong Trump supporter and senior advisor for the America First Action PAC, resigned as sheriff last year to help the political action committee elect candidates to advance the president’s agenda.

Much like Trump, Clarke has repeatedly called out liberal media outlets for distorting or misrepresenting facts to promote a liberal perspective.

The recent Twitter spate followed news reports about an FBI affidavit unsealed Thursday that details an incident between the then sheriff and Dan Black, a man he met on a plane to Milwaukee last January. The affidavit alleged Clarke used his authority as sheriff to have Black detained and questioned at the airport before he was escorted out of the building, The Huffington Post reports.

The Audit Services Division of the Milwaukee County controller’s office found Clarke “used his official position as sheriff of Milwaukee County in excess of his lawful authority to direct his deputies to stop and question Black without legal justification” but federal investigators decided in May not to pursue charges against Clarke.
