Twitter ignores anti-Semitic rhetoric, and the social platform ignores threats against President Trump and his family, too.

Singer Bette Midler took to Twitter on Friday with an apparent little jingle in which she called for the President’s family to hang “GOOD AND HIGH!”

She tweeted:

Trump Trump Trump
Bob Mueller’s marching,
Trump Trump Trump
And here is why
Trump Trump Trump
He’s gonna hang you
Hang the fam’ly
GOOD AND HIGH!

Midler’s tweet clearly violates Twitter’s rules against “Violent threats or glorification of violence.”

“You may not make specific threats of violence or wish for the serious physical harm, death, or disease of an individual or group of people,” the rule states on Twitter’s website.

“We want Twitter to be a place where people feel safe to freely express themselves. Thus, we will not tolerate behavior that encourages or incites violence against a specific person or group of people,” the platform explains as its rationale.

Is Bette Midler protected by Progressive Privilege?

The tweet was posted Friday morning and remains public more than 24 hours later.
