The issue of adults attempting to smuggle children across the U.S.-Mexico border is a “humanitarian crisis,” and Hillary Clinton can fix it with money.

That’s the message the failed presidential candidate sent to her supporters in a recent fundraising email that hauled in more than $1 million for anti-Trump, pro-immigration protests, and help for the children, of course.

In her plea for cash, Clinton lamented the “horrific” scene at the border, with “nursing infants ripped away from their mothers” and toddlers led away from their guardians under the guise of bathes or play time.

And the ploy worked beautifully.

“Since I reached out to ask this community to step up and support the groups working to protect and reunite families that have been separated at the border, you’ve raised more than $1 million dollars that will be split between the teams at the American Civil Liberties Union, the Asylum Seeker Advocacy Project, the Florence Immigrant and Refugee Rights Project, Human Rights First, Kids in Need of Defense, La Union del Pueblo Entero, the Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services, United We Dream Action, We Belong Together, and the Women’s Refugee Commission,” Clinton wrote in a follow-up email Thursday.

The money was raised through Clinton’s “social welfare” nonprofit “Onward Together,” which was formed in April 2017 as part of the Trump “resistance,” according to the Washington Free Beacon.

“The group seeks to provide financial support, strategic leadership guidance, recognition through endorsements, or the mobilization of its members to support its partner organizations,” the news site reports.

The family separations at the border stem from U.S. law that requires agents to remove children from their parents when they’re arrested for a crime, the same way American citizens are separated from their children when they commit a crime.

Clinton herself said “we have to send a clear message: just because your child gets across the border doesn’t mean that child gets to stay” and supported her husband’s crackdown on illegal immigration during his presidency in the 1990s.

Regardless, President Trump signed an executive order to do everything possible to keep detained illegal immigrant families together, which Clinton also attacked in her latest email.

“You may have heard about the White House’s just-announced executive order,” Clinton wrote. “It will mean more families and children are kept in detention centers and jails for longer – and it doesn’t offer a plan to reunite families already separated. This is not a solution.”

The irony is Trump has repeatedly called on Congress to craft a permanent solution, a task he points out is impossible without support from at least some Democrats.

“What is the purpose of the House doing good immigration bills when you need 9 votes by Democrats in the Senate, and the Dems are only looking to Obstruct (which they feel is good for them in the Mid-Terms),” Trump tweeted Thursday.

Clinton’s email confirms the president’s comments.

“Right now, protests, marches, and other events are being organized across the country for Saturday, June 30th to demand our government stop treating these children and their parents like criminals – take a moment to find one near you, then say you’ll join millions of Americans in standing against this cruel practice,” Clinton wrote.

The bottom line, Trump tweeted: “Democrats want open Borders, where anyone can come into our Country, and stay. This is Nancy Pelosi’s dream. It won’t happen!”
