Chick-fil-A is known for its quirky advertising, with cows promoting the chain’s “Eat Mor Chikin” campaign.

But what many might not know is the restaurant is also apparently a sanctuary for bovines on the lam.

Indiana resident Athena Hopkins posted a video to Facebook of a cow that crossed Campus Parkway in Noblesville on Saturday to take refuge at Chick-fil-A as police followed in hot pursuit.

“Who loses a cow in Noblesville?” Hopkins said in the video, recorded from a vehicle.

Passengers laughed hysterically as the large white beast wandered through five lanes of traffic to cross the roadway, streaming drool with a police escort close behind.

“Hey, is it like a promo for Chick-fil-A?” a passenger said. “He’s running to Chick-fil-A.”

KUTV reports:

A cow temporarily halted traffic in a town just north of Indianapolis on Saturday, running away from police to the nearest “safe” spot: Chick-fil-A.

According to the Noblesville Police Department, officers were chasing a runaway cow across Campus Parkway before it crossed the street and waited by the fast-food chain.

Noblesville Police Department posted to Facebook about the ordeal to solicit photos from the public about officers’ comical adventure.

“NPS was able to ‘run with the bulls’ last night. We were chasing this running wild bovine all over the east side,” the department posted Sunday morning. “If you got a picture of our cowboy adventure comment with it! We love to see it.”

Hopkins posted her video in the comments, as did local Rodney Heil, who was driving to dinner with his family Saturday when the cow came wondering by.

“He’s got a sign that says ‘Eat Mor Chikin,’” a passenger joked.

“He works for Chick-fil-A,” another said.

Still other videos showed the cow jumping through landscaping in front of a Noblesville shopping complex, and running along a sidewalk leading to a highway ramp.

Noblesville police later posted that officers “were able to herd the cow back in the trailer of the owner.”

In just the last couple of days, Hopkins’ video received more than 11,000 shares and 822,000 views.

“Chick-fil-A couldn’t have paid for that kind of publicity when it was in front of the store,” David Thompson posted in the comments.

“Utterly ridiculous,” John Collins added.

“Last night was the BEST night!” Deseree Cox wrote. “I hope you guys had a great laugh. I can only say that because the cow was never injured (as well as no one else.)”
