How many Democrats does it take to make a microphone work?

Answer: More than were on hand outside the Supreme Court on Monday night.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and other Democrats gathered to protest President Trump’s immigration executive order, but they struggled to get the microphone and speakers to work properly.

As Pelosi began her speech, some in the audience said they couldn’t hear her.

“Is the sound working?” she said in response. “No,” some said in return.

“I can hear you, can you hear us?” she asked.

A confused-looking Pelosi turned to a colleague and said, “Is the sound working?”

Pelosi attempted to launch into her speech again before stopping again.

“The mic’s not on?” she said, before turning away and saying, “Is somebody going to deal with this?” as Pelosi and her colleagues fiddled with the equipment.

Pelosi then shifted to observing the night sky.

“Look at that moon. It’s a new moon,” Pelosi said.

The Democratic leader tried for a third time to denounce Trump, only to be stopped yet again because no one could hear her.

Pelosi thought yelled into the microphone might work, but it didn’t.

“Staff? Sound people?” she said, before launching into a rendition of Woody Guthrie’s socialist anthem “This Land Is Your Land.”

It’s not clear if she ever did get the equipment to work.
