It took less than 30 seconds for Nancy Pelosi to suffer an awkward brain freeze during an appearance on “Fox News Sunday” this morning.

Host Chris Wallace had only asked one question when the 77-year-old House Minority Leader struggled to remember the federal department President Trump’s new chief of staff had led.

“How much trouble is this president in and do you think that putting Gen. Kelly in there is going to make a difference?” Wallace asked right out of the gate.

“Well, let me take the second part,” Pelosi responded, “I hope so. I look forward to working with Gen. Kelly— I’ve worked with him as, well, Secretary Kelly, as, uh, uh,” she said before pausing awkwardly, and continuing, “at the Department of Homeland Security, so I will be speaking with him today.”

The strange moment came less than a half-minute into the interview.

Speaking about the chief of staff, Pelosi said, “It’s a very important position. The president— the chief of staff to the president of the United States.”
