Never mind Maxine Waters is 78-year-old and has been in Congress for a quarter-century–longer than much of the MTV audience has been alive.
“Autie Maxine” is the new darling of the anti-Trump left.
Waters received a wild standing ovation when she appeared at the MTV Movie & TV Awards on Sunday night.
Wearing a black gown, the California Congresswoman walked on stage as the audience went crazy.
Actress Tracee Ellis Ross praised Waters as the two presented the “Best Fight Against the System” award.
“I will take this moment to go off script and say Congresswoman Maxine Waters, thank you,” Ross said as the crowd continued to applaud.
“Thank you for your work, thank you for your voice and how you use it, and thank you for being an extraordinary example for all of us, especially in these times.”
The two embraced as many in the crowd continued to stand.
The media, of course, couldn’t get enough of Waters:
